Pandora’s Winter Collection captures the beauty and spirit of an enchanting winter wonderland through shimmering sterling silver stones and crystals in frosted hues.
Pulling inspiration from snow falling from the sky, Pandora's new Crystalized Blues series embrace winter's biggest trend of embellished accents. Snowflake-inspired charms, earrings and rings are encrusted with clear and blue cubic zirconia stones. A new abstract openwork charm is introduced with two bead-set, rose-cut, sky blue crystals, 48 bead-set clear cubic zirconia and cut-out heart details. Pandora highlights snowflakes and sky blue hues in collection for the 2015 holiday season
Silver jewelry production falls slightly in 2015
Silver jewellery fabrication is expected to have dipped by 2.5 percent this year to 218.9 million ounces, according to the Interim Silver Market Review of Thomson Reuters.
The findings of the report were presented by Erica Rannestad, senior analyst of the GFMS team at Thomson Reuters, during the annual Silver Industry Dinner hosted by the Silver Institute in New York on November 17.
In a statement, Thomson Reuters said jewellery production this year increased at a healthy pace in Thailand (14 percent), the US (9 percent) and Italy (8 percent). China’s output however dropped by 25 percent. “This sharp decline is largely attributed to offshoring of jewellery manufacturing to Southeast Asian countries and weaker domestic silver jewellery consumption,” the statement said.
Silver prices this year through to November 13 averaged US$15.91 per ounce, 18.3 percent lower than in the same period in 2014. According to the GFMS team at Thomson Reuters, silver prices are expected to average US$15.51 per ounce for the full calendar year.

Ceranity taps international market
Ceranity, the ceramic and silver jewellery brand of France’s Groupe Gemstar, is making its international debut at the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. Launched in 2011, the brand has more than 1,700 accounts in Europe, with a presence in France, Belgium and Spain. It is now seeking to make inroads in Korea, Japan, Italy, Germany and the US. Revolving around the core values of serenity, eternity and duality, Ceranity features black and white ceramic in affordable yet elegant everyday silver jewellery. Its four collections are silver and ceramic, silver and ceramic with diamonds, silver and ceramic with cubic zirconia, and stainless steel and ceramic. Pieces retail for around $120 each. The brand targets vibrant, energetic women who are full of life.
Groupe Gemstar head of international sales and marketing Willy Te recommends potential clients to buy into the brand with 40 to 50 pieces at around $1,800. This minimum investment includes displays, jewellery cases and leaflets.
Te said: “Ceramic jewellery has evolved from a niche market to a serious alternative to traditional segments such as fine and fashion jewellery. Ceranity pioneered the ceramic and silver jewellery concept, and we want to establish it as the international leader in this product segment.”
At the September Hong Kong Fair, Te is looking to introduce Ceranity to department stores for showcases or shop-in-shop agreements, jewellery chain stores and independent jewellery retailers in prime locations.
